IWH Services

The IWH offers many services to fit community needs, research projects, and outreach goals.

Cutting-Edge Lab Testing

Our brand-new, state-of-the-art laboratory is equipped to analyze water and soil samples to detect many chemical and biological contaminants, including microorganisms, nutrients, lead, arsenic, and others. In 2024, the IWH laboratories will be applying for state and national certification, allowing local residents to receive results when and where they are needed most.

Science Communication

Many projects depend on delivering the right information to the right people at the right time and in the right format. Our team has years of experience in data visualization, communication, and analysis to create products that are easily interpreted by the targeted audience for the maximum impact.

Environmental Public Health Analysis

The IWH occupies a unique research niche in Georgia, combining environmental and public health research to find relationships and opportunities for community improvement.

Our expertise allows the IWH to investigate the human cost of complex environmental issues through surveys, focus groups, and targeted data collection on rural water supplies, private well assessment, and many other related topics.

We use these data to develop predictive models, risk analysis, and needs assessments for water policy improvement.

Community Outreach and Education

Commissioner Booker

We believe the success of a program relies on the co-creation of activities with target populations. Diverse groups of educators, students, and advocates broaden our impact.

We are dedicated to expanding our educational activities with citizen scientist training, community-based participatory research projects, and teacher professional development activities.
