COVID – 19 – Back to Campus Short course available


The American Association of Medical Colleges and the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative have collaborated to product a complementary short course to train staff, students and faculty on COVID considerations for return to campus. The course is available now through the end of April, 2021. Access is available through your CITI link on the Research Tab of your My.georgiasouthern.edu portal. The course consists of the following:

3 self-paced modules:

  • Module 1 – Introduction (23 min by Dr. Wilbur Chen, University of Maryland School of Medicine
  • Module 2 – Prevention Strategies – (60 min by Dr. Maya Nair, University of North Texas Health Science Center)
  • Module 3 – Moving Forward – (12 min by Dr. Wilbur Chen, University of Maryland School of Medicine)

and 3 optional modules

  • Module 4 – Human Subjects Research COVID response (5 min)
  • Module 5 – Laboratory Animal Restart and Ramp Down (28 min)
  • Module 6 – Direct Patient Response (20 Min)

To access the course:

1.     If you have a CITI program account access your CITI account through the Research Resources tile on your my.georgiasouthern.edu portal or click here and log in.  Skip to step 3

2.    If you do not yet have a CITI program account, you will need to register and affiliate with Georgia Southern.  (Georgia Southern has a subscription to this service that makes these courses available to your free of charge.)

3.     After you have a CITI account, you must add the COVID-19: Back to Campus (Fall 2020) course to your profile.  Once logged in, look for the “Add a Course” link near your course list, scroll to Question 13, select “COVID-19 Back to Campus (Fall 2020) Course,” and click Submit at the bottom of the page.
