Budget: Supplies

Most items (e.g chemicals, lab glassware) required to complete a research project will fall into the supply category unless a piece of equipment exceeds the $5000 limit (see Equipment section).  These costs should be project-specific, reasonable and based on actual or historical use. It is not necessary to break down each individual item unless required by the sponsor. Generally, office supplies are unallowable costs, unless they are allocated to the specific project and justified as a direct cost, not a routine office/administrative expense (e.g. paper).
