Award Setup

The Georgia Southern University Research and Service Foundation (GSURSF) accepts grants and contractual obligations from individuals, government and public agencies, industry sponsors and private organizations to support research, instruction, and service activities at Georgia Southern University. Through a memorandum of understanding with the University, the GSURSF assigns the awards to the University for performance.

After GSURSF is notified of an award, the University reviews the terms and conditions before accepting the award.  Research Services completes any needed negotiations with the sponsor and moves the information forward to Research Accounting.  Research Accounting sets up the University accounts that align with the award budget and allow for project-related expenditures.

Project initiation and implementation is subject to federal, state, USG and university regulations, policies and procedures.
