From our inception in 1938, the Herty Center has offered a diverse range of services to industries from biomedical to biomass.  Although founded with the mission to nurture the technological development of the nascent pulp and paper industry, our mission has grown with the changing demands of our clients, our State, and our country and the Herty Center quickly grew to become a national center for short fiber processing and wet laid production.  Today, we offer a range of services to our partners and clients from concept through development and scale-up to ISO9001 pilot production.  This includes the laboratory testing and the development of new energy pellets, process development and scale-up of waste recycling technologies, and the 24/7 pilot production of roll-goods for electronics, transportation, and energy customers.
