Community Health Resource Project

The Community Health Resource Project (CHRP) will work with 18 rural, underserved Georgia counties over a two-year period to identify and map community health resources used by individuals in each county.

Rural counties are impacted by barriers that prevent community members from receiving the same opportunities as their counterparts who live in metropolitan areas. These barriers, including transportation, technology, health literacy, and workforce shortages, continue to have a negative effect on health in rural communities. IHLA works with these counties across the state of Georgia to map the resources identified by community members that promote positive health outcomes.

We are reaching out to community members from rural Georgia counties. Hearing directly from you is an important part of the discovery of community-supported health resources.

IHLA will address shortages of trained health professionals by identifying opportunities within each county to improve the health and well-being of the community. Participatory asset mapping will identify health resources that exist within each rural county. Stakeholders, facilitated focus groups, and “boots on the ground” observation will contribute to the map—displaying the greatest strengths of each county.
