Pre-Award to Post Award Processes and Procedures

Research Services understands that the sponsor award notice sets the parameters in which the research will be conducted and is the first step in the post-award grant management process. The award notification will set forth all terms and conditions of the grant, agreement, or contract. Upon receipt of the sponsor award notification, Research Services will review the award to ensure that it complies with the original grant proposal application; any discrepancies will initiate a conversation with the PI and other administrators when applicable to resolve.

Once the pre-award negotiation phase is finalized, the award notice and original proposal will be used to setup the award in the institution’s electronic research system, Cloud Express. The university has put in place processes and procedures to ensure optimal performance management of Pre-Award to Post-Award operations.
