Herty offers clients a full range of research, development, and pilot-scale capabilities which provides our clients the ability to innovate, scale-up, and manufacture in a single venue.
Our in-house quality control capabilities (e.g. basic physical and chemical testing in a condition test lab) are continuously augmented by the addition of new material test and evaluation equipment including DSC, TGA, FTIR, ISP, and others. These development and production QA capabilities are further expanded by the most sophisticated research instruction located throughout Georgia Southern University.
Herty’s greatest strength is our pilot plant where we enable our customers the opportunity to bring their laboratory ideas to near commercial production. Our 100,000 square-foot high-bay pilot and production building includes a unit-ops lab for flexible development programs, mechanical and chemical pulping trials, lab and pilot-scale advanced chemical reactors for chemical process innovation, pilot and production refining, and three wet laid machines with widths from 0.6 to 1.1m for ISO9001 certified production.
