Students from Georgia Southern University received the People, Prosperity, Planet (P3) award
A team of students from Georgia Southern University received the People, Prosperity, Planet (P3) award at the ninth annual National Sustainable Design Expo on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
The Georgia Southern P3 Team, which consist of nine students from the school of engineering, were awarded for innovations with the low temperature combustion diesel engine to get it to operate on locally sourced n-buthanol and cottonseed oil, which would create lower soot emissions.
The award allows the team to receive a grant of up to $90,000 to develop its design and potentially bring it to the marketplace.
